Cheetham Salt

Cheetham Salt is Australia’s largest producer and refiner of solar salt. It operates six solar salt fields and four refineries throughout Australia, and has an established business in Indonesia and a sales office in Japan.

Their hosted Cisco phone system was behind the times and voice quality was poor.

In order to modernise and reduce costs, CTI replaced ISDN with SIP Trunksat the core and deployed Edge gateways at branch offices, connected directly to local ISDN lines.  This was important as the branch locations were in regional areas not yet serviced by NBN and the data connections back to HQ were small and not able to handle all the voice traffic.  By using ISDN lines local to the branch for external calls and only routing internal calls over the wide area network (WAN), Cheetham Salt were able to  keep network costs to a minimum.

CTI integrated the Microsoft Dynamics CRM with the ShoreTel phone system which provides userswithclick to dial and customer records are now displayed to the agent when a match is found on caller ID, further saving time and money.

Rather than spend big and deploy on-premises multi-party video bridges to accommodate attendees both here and abroad, Cheetham Salt signed up to CTI’s Video as a . This enables users to join meetings using their Skype for Business client as well as legacy Polycom Boardroom units.
