Pitt and Sherry

Pitt & Sherry are a multi-specialist engineering and environment consultancy, achieving intelligent outcomes and sustainable solutions for industry, government and communities for over 50 years.  Aggressive expansion through a combination of organic growth and acquisitions saw them with an unmanageable mess of disparate phone systems dotted around Australia.

Having made the decision to migrate to Microsoft Office 356 and to adopt Skype for Business Online as the defacto tool for Instant Messaging, presence and video conferencing, it made sense to adopt Skype for Business as the phone system. CTI as Microsoft Partners were selected to work with their IT providers to deliver the solution.

Rather than deploying all the components to run Skype for Business on-premises, CTI installed the Microsoft Cloud Connector Edition and Session Border Controller into the CTI Solutions Data Centre as part of a Managed Service Agreement.  their telco provider installed an interconnect to the CTI racks, which delivered SIP Trunks and connectivity to the internet and Pitt &Sherry’s Wide Area network(WAN).

Staff use a combination of Polycom VVX IP handsets and headsets.  Incoming calls to main switchboard numbers are handled by Skype for Business Teams and the primary receptionist uses an Attendant Application called Attendant Pro.

Skype Room Systems are replacing the legacy Life Size units in larger meeting spaces.
